The Sound of silence

not a bird chirping
not a breeze stirring
not a voice whimpering
nor an ocean wave curling
just the sound of
silence
in the surround

you can hear it
as it caresses your
overburdened mind
silencing
even the whisper of a feather
as it falls to the ground
